My Birthday update

Hey folks!

It's been quite a long time since I've updated this blog.
I know the world is in a bit of a weird spin at the moment, with everything that's going on, but I really hope you're all holding up quite well.

I used to write up about my adventures quite a
lot.
Now is the perfect time to get back into it

Where do I start?
I will start with my birthday.
I turned 29 this year (I know, I know, I barely look like I've hit my 20s). I went a little out of my comfort zone for my celebrations this time. Ordinarily, I'd simply go for a meal and maybe hit the town for a few drinks afterwards.
This year I decided to be just that little bit extra- I pushed past my insecurities and invited more than my usual amount to my birthday meal. I had lots of food surrounded by great company, and we know that that is always a win!
The birthday cake was, obviously, a unicorn, huge and filled with cream (yummm). My Work Wife even went to the effort of decorating the table with balloons (including a massive unicorn helium one, of course).
After stuffing my face, a few of us continued the night on and hit one of the local LGBT bars afterwards and participated in a little karaoke. If you'd like to take a listen to that, you can do so just below.

An even bigger accomplishment I achieved was booking a mini getaway to Wales. Now, Wales is very much one of my biggest happy places. I absolutely adore being surrounded by nature, whether it's a forest or the beach, that's where I feel most at home. It's not easy for me to go to places overnight, and it's even more difficult for me to participate in doing so with other people.
I stayed, alongside three of my wonderful friends, in a caravan in a park situated between Rhyl and Prestatyn.

The caravan itself was cold but was contrasted by the warmth of my friends. The view was the usual standard that you'd expect from a holiday park, but the walks alongside the beach were lush. The cool wind blowing in from the tide flowing out that saltwater air was peaceful and reassuring. It was an eventful adventure picking out pretty stones and pretty shells with likeminded people. I could walk for miles alongside a beach, the nearby grassy verges is where I decided to scatter some of my late dog, JC's, ashes. JC absolutely adored anything green, grass included, we never got the chance to take her to a beach so it felt comforting to place some of her there where her spirit can play to her heart's content. Upon returning to the caravan I'd decided to connect with my spiritual side and do a little positive spell and light a candle in JC's, and everyone else's memory.

We took a trip to the SeaQuarium on my actual birthday. Visiting the SeaQuarium is pretty much a tradition for every time I visit Rhyl, having been there for the first time when I was about 5 years old and posing under the shark with my brother. Naturally, I just had to pose under the shark again this time, of which you can have a gander at a photo of me doing that on here.

My friends are awesome, and in uncomfortable and uncertain times like this, it's important to remind myself of such. There were surprise turtle teddies, hidden from me with a crab walk (because if an aquarium isn't the perfect place for such a walk, where is?). There was surprise pink tequila, and a belated singing of happy birthday on, yet another, cake.

When you stay at a holiday park it's quite likely that you're going to have a gander at the arcade area. We did more than gander, my friends won quite a few tickets. My gameplay, however, sucked ass. My friends, being as lovely as ever, gave me their tickets so that I could get myself a prize. I chose a dragon ornament, being of Welsh blood means I naturally have an affinity towards dragons anyway, but I also happen to love the aesthetics of dragon memorabilia in my extremely, diverse, and all over the place bedroom.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience of which will remain with me forever!
