"The lighthouse" (2015)
Created using colouring pencils and oil pastels. First time doing a sea scene.
Because lighthouses are what guide you home. Sometimes in life you can get caught in a storm, and end up being dragged down by a wave. You can feel yourself drowning in the darkness, fighting with all your might to struggle on, and persevere through the battle. Then you see the light in the distance, and all the rocks you've bashed into, all the turmoil you've been through finally seems worth it, finally makes sense, because it has brought you to this moment. You see the inspiration up ahead, and it fills you with strength, hope, and faith. Your heart aches heavy with love, and you finally feel free, alive, determined, and spirited. And you feel all that because you see your lighthouses, and that lighthouse is home.
